I was invited by Emila to accompany her to the official book launch of a new cookbook called “A Perennial Feast : Food, Flavours, Restaurant, Recipes” at Starhihll Culinary Studio, Muse Floor, Starhill Gallery, Kuala Lumpur on 30th January 2013.
Authored by Kim Ingris, this book takes the reader on a gastronomic journey from Malaysia to China and Japan, and all the way to Europe. It starts in Malaysia showcasing both island resorts and city heritage hotels and restaurants, all the while providing an overview of traditional Malay are which is combined with some East meets West fusion food and some innovative seafood dishes. The book then explored recipes and cuisine from China and Japan with section on Bali, Thailand, England and followed by France. The recipes are accompanied with iconic properties in full colour photography by Danish photographer, Jacob Termansen.

After the launch, guest were then invited to go on a gastronomy adventure with a four course dinner prepared by the respective chefs from various restaurants including Chef Matthew Ona who had flown in from Shook! Shanghai at the private Third Floor Gallery located at the JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur.
There was also a live demonstration on how the signature dishes featured in the book and restaurants were prepared!
