I’ve always loved baking and I remember bringing home with pride all the cakes and cookies that I’ve baked in school during our home economics classes. Mom and dad has always been supportive which makes me all the more confident of my baking. lol! Fast forward a few years and baking has been made more easier with easy to bake recipes which can be found all the over the internet.

For instance, can you believe that this brownies is only with with only three ingredients ? Yeap.. Nutella, Flour and Eggs (in my case I added almonds) and the results? Well see for yourselves! Now all I need is some nice table linens from http://www.premiertablelinens.com a nice plate to serve it in and the whole experience is made.


Brownies with Three Ingredients

Recipe Type: Dessert

Make Brownies using Nutella, Flour and Eggs
Ingredients
  • 1 cup (280g) Nutella
  • 2 eggs
  • 10 tbsp (62g) flour
Instructions
  1. Put everything in a bowl
  2. Mixed everything well
  3. Pour into a pan or muffin tin.
  4. Mixed in almonds bits if you like.
  5. Bake at 350F (180C) for around 30 minutes (less time for cupcake form, more time if the centers aren’t baked through).

I found this recipe and thought I post it here at my blog so it is easier for me to refer in the future. Enjoy!

Recipe: Brown Butter Buttermilk Pancakes

Serves: 12
Ingredients
  • 1 cup AP flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • zest of one lemon
  • 1 egg
Instructions
  1. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl whisk together the egg, buttermilk, vanilla, and lemon zest.
  3. Over low heat cook the butter in a small saucepan until it turns a deep brown colour, adjusting the temp to keep it from burning.
  4. Remove from heat and add to the buttermilk mixture.
  5. Add the flour mixture and whisk until combined.
  6. Let the batter rest for about 30 minutes (If you can…).
  7. Heat a nonstick fry pan over medium heat.
  8. Add a tablespoon of butter and swirl to coat the bottom of the pan. cook batter until you see bubbles on the surface of the pancake, then flip over and continue to cook for one more minute.
  9. Repeat with the rest of the batter.

Here is another recipe that I got while playing Chefville on Facebook. This one is so simple that I am itching to try ASAP.

Good Morning French Toast

Ingredients
  • 1 loaf whole wheat French bread or brioche, sliced
  • 1 cup (220 g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (113 g) butter, melted
  • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (75 g) dried raisins or currants
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup (350 mL) whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • pinch salt
Instructions
  1. Combine brown sugar, butter and cinnamon and pour this mixture in a 13 X 9 inch (33 x 23 cm) baking pan. Add dried raisins or currants to the pan and toss until coated well. Arrange slices of bread on top of this mixture.
  2. Mix the eggs, milk, vanilla, pinch of salt and remaining cinnamon and pour over the bread to cover completely. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  3. Bake covered in a 375F (190C) oven for approximately 40-50 minutes.
  4. Uncover and bake another 5 minutes to lightly brown. Remove from oven, cool for about 5 minutes and serve warm.
