I’ve always loved baking and I remember bringing home with pride all the cakes and cookies that I’ve baked in school during our home economics classes. Mom and dad has always been supportive which makes me all the more confident of my baking. lol! Fast forward a few years and baking has been made more easier with easy to bake recipes which can be found all the over the internet.

For instance, can you believe that this brownies is only with with only three ingredients ? Yeap.. Nutella, Flour and Eggs (in my case I added almonds) and the results? Well see for yourselves! If you are a RHB credit card or a debit card holder and if you happened to love cakes from Secret Recipe, well good news for you then coz every Friday this month, Secret Recipe is offering “Buy one and get one free cakes” at all their stores. I am taking full advantage since last Friday and so this is my second Friday that I am enjoying this offer. Lol! Well, seeing how I don’t need to fit into any bridal lingerie, I am going for one more round next Friday, which also happens to be the last day of the offer. Simply Awesome.. RM10.60 for two slices of yummylicious deliciously sinful cake.. hahahha..

We all know the health benefits of omega 3 and that is one of the reasons why I love my seafood and why I always opt for one whenever I go out and eat.

So it was an easy choice for me when I saw what Chilli’s had to offer from their savory seafood menu. I opted for their Tequila Lime Fish steak made from white dory fish steak dipped in their non-alcoholic tequila-lime marinade, grilled & topped with garlic-lime butter. Served with rice & seasonal veggies. All I can say is my BFF, Emila, and me was speechless as we enjoyed our lunch! lol!

Marzie and B came later and joined us with Chilli’s Southwestern eggrolls starter as they already had lunch. This starter was a crispy flour tortilla filled with smoked chicken, black beans, corn, jalapeños Jack cheese, red peppers and spinach. Served with avacado-ranch dressing. Another yums!

All in all and awesome afternoon with friends and great food!

I’m not sure what is the English word for this dish but all I can say is whatever it is called in any language, it is yummy! This one is cooked by my uncle who was nice enough to cook it for me on my last visit home to Singapore. Mom has asked me if I wanted her to cook this dish for me and of course I told her “YES” but it seems she didn’t have time to go to the market to get the materials for it so when she mentioned this to my uncle (who incidentally has a food stall at the hawker center near my home) he decided to cook for me instead!

Bistik Tulang

Good thing I wasn’t wearing any rings that day when I was enjoying this with bread or else it would be quite a challenge to look for gold wedding rings if it happens to get mixed up with the gravy.. lol!

Have you tried CP Instant Meals? Well I have and I absolutely love their “Nasi Lemak with Chicken Rendang”. It’s tasty and easy to “prepare”. Just pop into your microwave oven and you’ll have an absolutely delightful meal in about 6minutes!

We also tried their “Fried Rice” which wasn’t bad either though the “Nasi Lemak” is my absolute favourite. In fact I just had one for my “sahur” or early breakfast today! Hmm.. I really need to stock up now as I just ran out and maybe get some after I bought my watch later today.

kitchen scramble

My fav game these days to destress when I am not working, is Kitchen Scramble which can be found in Facebook. It’s fun and challenging especially since I have to remember all the different recipes to cook before serving it to my diners. Try it out and add me as friend if you are playing.

Here’s a video of me playing at level 36. This round last 4minutes and 5 seconds and as you can see I have got to cook up a storm in the kitchen trying to not make my diners too long for their meals. As you can also see sometimes I am so confused I just tap my feet while I try to clear my brain.. lol!

I have no idea how a Time Lapse Camera will help me in the kitchen but who knows maybe to be able to see a cake rise or to see a meal cooked from start to finish will be kinda awsesome right? I mean I always see those film where you see a flower bloom or an egg hatched using one of those time lapse kitchen and it was way cool. Hmm.. maybe I should get one if not for the kitchen, maybe the kitty room?

When I’m in the mood to cook, I am really in the mood to cook… and seeing how we have water supply today at our condo (water rationing sucks big time), I decided to cook fried noodle and bake a cake for dessert. The ingredients for the cake was easy enough to get but whaddaya know the supermarket ran out of yellow noodle! Anyway I thought of just using “Bee Hoon” instead but Azwaj saw was eyeing the fusilli instead and asked me if we could substitute Beehoon for that instead. I told him.. “Why not?”.. lol!

Bon Appétit

Nothing beats mommy cooking right and I got plenty of it when I was back in Singapore last week. She cooked my favorite Cockles dish which was complimented by stirfried spinach.. Yums!

We slept at dawn and by the time we woke up it was close to 2pm. Of course it being lunch time and with the weather so cold these days, needless to say we were starving. Of course we didn’t feel like going out since we just woke up so I decided to just whip up a fresh batch of anchovies fritters. The fritters batter are not made from scratch so these cannot compare to the ones that mommy made… but hey if the stomach is happy, we are happy.. lol!

Much like the jackson electric guitars at Musicians Friend, my vintage teapot are made with quality too. It was handed to me by my mom and both are about 20years of age. The stainless steel still shines and the glass one pours water so smoothly (unlike the newer ones that I bought) that I don’t have to worry about coffee spilling on the table when I pour them into cups for my guests.

Oh ok, back to the jackson electric guitar, it features Soloist archtop body, Neck-thru basswood body with AAAA quilted maple top, 3-piece maple neck with graphite reinforcement, Piranha inlays, EMG 81 & 85 pickups and Floyd Rose 6-string tremolo bridge.  Selling at an awesome price of about USD500, it is a worthy buy (even Azwaj says so)
