Mommy is here in KL with me and usual what do we do? We went SHOPPING.. lol! So after shopping, we had lunch at Mr Teppanyaki (Aeon Big – Wangsa Maju). It wasn’t anything we can rave about but since we were hungry after that shop till you drop session, we gobbled up everything as we discussed where else to go after that.
I love it when mommy comes for a visit :)

If you are planning kitchen remodeling in Westchester, then there are a number of ways that you can get a higher return on your investment. The kitchen is one of the most widely used rooms in any home, which is why most homeowners begin their remodeling efforts in this room.
Research Your Options
It is important to find the right kitchen designer and cabinetry team to complete the work to ensure that you get the results you’re hoping for. Once you have decided what you need, what you want, and what you are willing to sacrifice, you can begin building a remodeling plan that works for your budget, preferences, and lifestyle. In most cases, you will need to consider the following:
- Cabinetry type and texture
- Countertop material
- Kitchen sink
- Lighting
- Flooring
- Backsplash and decorative additions
- Replacement of large appliances
- Finishes and fixtures
Get a Custom Design
If you don’t have any ideas yet, or are unsure of what would best fit in your space, then speak with an interior designer for assistance and custom design ideas. You can also inquire about whether they have any pre-existing floor plans that you can use and make changes to. Finding what you like and what can improve your overall design and kitchen experience will help you to get the most for your investment.
Invest in New Cabinets
New, updated cabinets can provide one of the biggest changes in your kitchen. There are also a number of special touches that you can add to your new cabinets to make them truly one-of-a-kind. Inquire about colors, textures, hardware, and extra storage features that can better suit your needs and enhance the overall look of your newly designed kitchen.
Keep the New Kitchen Well Maintained
Once you have completed kitchen remodeling in Westchester, it is important to properly care for your new kitchen going forward. Keeping it clean and quickly repairing any problems is the best way to preserve your investment. Make sure to also ask your redesign team what they recommend to ensure that your kitchen looks the same in one year as it does today.

Wow! I can’t believe this is my first post for November. Instead of looking at Pandora earrings pictures, I should be looking at food pictures to get inspired to write instead eh?
Anyhow, since it Thanksgiving in some parts of the world and people are having turkeys and all those good stuff, I reckon I post some nice food pictures of the steamboat meal I had with Azwaj some time earlier. We used Groupon voucher and got a meal worth RM100 for only RM49! Super awesome!

You may have heard of a healthy Mediterranean diet but you might not know much about it. It is a simple diet that consists of natural ingredients that appeal to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. If you are one who wants to enjoy the simple cuisine of Southern Europe, check out vloraboston.com. There are many restaurants who can offer you what you like, but you need to know what specifically you are looking for in your food selections.
What Is the Diet?
The people of Italy, Greece, and Spain have one of the healthiest diets of all the cultures on Earth. This is because of the types of natural foods that they eat. The diet consists of all sorts of fruits and vegetables, legumes, and unrefined cereals. Olive oil is the main fat ingredient and many people choose to dress their salads and other foods with it instead of butter or other types of salad dressings.
Fish consumption is high on the list. Red meat and other types of meat are used sparingly. The heavy use of grains and legumes provides most people with the appropriate portions of protein that people need for a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, dairy products are readily available, particularly cheese and yogurt.
Some Health Benefits
Dairy products include mostly cheese and yogurt, which are generally easier for humans to digest than straight milk, especially for those people who suffer from lactose intolerance. Yogurts contain enzymes that help digest food, so a person’s digestive system can run smoother and healthier. Using fish as one main source of protein is healthy because it is packed with omega-3 and healthy cholesterol, as opposed to the high fat content and bad cholesterol of red meat.
The main point of the Mediterranean diet is to enjoy the foods that Mother Nature has provided. She has given the Earth a variety of textures and flavors in her grains and fruits and vegetables. Natural oils and spices provide amazing flavor. These flavors are delicious, but sometimes it takes a great chef to inspire you with new ideas. Going out to eat is a great way to get inspiration. Check out vloraboston.com for menu ideas and places to eat out.

My halogen oven went dead on me in August. If it was easy to buy like it is easy to buy true systems signal processors at guitar center, I would have gotten a replacement in a jiffy but unfortunately since the only place I knew to look for one is via my fav discount sites, I can only wait for an offer to come. Lucky for me, I didn’t have to wait for long. My order is coming soon.. yeay!

Do you guys watch Masterchef Australia season 4. I know that the season has ended and there is already a winner but I have not watched all the episodes yet so shhhh.. lol! Anyway did you watch the episode where they were asked to us the flour using a milling machine at one of the flour mills? It was hilarious as the participants were covered up with flour by the time it was all over and the poor miller, his mill nearly caught fire.. hahah!

I love food and although I try not to over indulge, I can’t help to do that sometimes. This is especially so if I was watching shows like Masterchef and any of the cooking shows for instance. Magazines does not help either (their web print solution must be really good) that sometimes I can feel myself drooling and salivating just looking at the pictures.. lol.. Definitely not good for the waistline right? Anyway, since it is the fasting month, I shall not post any food image today..as I might get hungry myself..hahah

Everyone enjoys receiving a gift from time to time. Sometimes, the best gift is an unexpected one. Generally, people give gifts for special occasions like birthdays or weddings. Other times they might give a gift to show appreciation. Teachers, coworkers, volunteers, friends, and family members need to know that people around them support what they do and are thankful for it. It will boost their spirits and encourage them to continue the important work and service they provide. Choosing a gift for someone though, can be quite challenging. There might be situations in which you want to thank someone for what they have done, but don’t feel like you know them well enough to pick a great gift. If this is the case, choose something that can be universally appreciated by anyone, like food. One idea that would be loved by just about anyone can be found at a cookie bouquet company.
Occasions
It would be hard to find someone that doesn’t enjoy cookies. A cookie bouquet or gift basket can be customized to fit any situation or occasion. Gourmet sugar cookies are both delicious and personal. For instance, if you are giving a bouquet to a music teacher, you can choose cookies that are shaped and frosted like musical instruments and musical notes. Or, a bouquet for a baby shower could include cookies that look like baby bottles, rattles, blocks, and teddy bears. A cookie bouquet can be used for a variety of purposes. They can be used to apologize, as a get well gift, or for a sympathy gift. It’s amazing how food can help comfort recipients during hurtful times.
Versatility
Sometimes, women struggle to find the perfect gift for the men in their lives. What man wouldn’t love a basket full of gourmet cookies? And, they are equally popular among women. This is a gift that spans all genders and ages. The versatility of a personalized bouquet makes it perfect for both intimate and formal situations. Whatever the special occasion is in your life, visit the website of a cookie bouquet company to see what arrangement they can come up with for you.

Eating and cooking a natural turkey can be one of the best experiences that you have had in your kitchen. If you enjoy the taste of turkey and the ease of making meals with it, you will love using an organic turkey product for all of your holiday meals.
A Tasty Treat
If you associate turkey with the holidays, then you know that it is one of the most popular items to serve for family dinners and to guests to celebrate the end of a year or a season. It is very simple to prepare, as long as you have a roomy oven and time to cook it. Turkey can get dry and tough if overcooked and will not make the best leftovers in this state. Purchase a turkey based on how many people will be eating it and if you want to use the leftovers for other meals during the week. Once cooked, it is necessary to finish off the extras within a few days. It can easily be stored in containers or bags in your refrigerator to keep fresh until you are ready to slap it between slices of bread for a hearty sandwich. Be sure to remove all of the meat from the carcass and throw the flavorful bones into a big pot to make the best turkey soup of your life.
Keep the Extras
If you have baked a huge turkey and have platters of leftovers, use them in a variety of ways for meals during the busy week. You can make sandwiches, soups, or casseroles with the turkey as a substitute for chicken or pork. If those are not appealing to you, simply eat the cold meat right out of a container. It will still taste great, and the flavor improves each day. If you are health conscience, purchase an organic turkey from a farm that does not use pesticides or hormones. You will be doing something good for the health of your family and friends.
Your Next Purchase
When it is your turn to bake a big bird, purchase a natural turkey for optimum flavor and juiciness. You and your guests will be able to taste the difference, and you will prepare this type of bird again in the near future.

Cooking and eating food is one of the most primal activities in which a human being can engage. Anyone can cook as long as they have the desire. The more a person cooks, the more skill they build. You can discover new and exciting ways to entice the palate by searching for recipes online or by experimenting on your own. Going out to eat can be frustrating. Often times you receive a plate of food and taste it wondering why you didn’t just cook your own food at home. The best tasting food is usually the most simply made. Many eateries have become more focused on profit than satisfied customers. Fortunately, there are still Boston Back Bay restaurants that focus on quality dining and whole ingredients.
Can They Prepare a Good Steak?
The ability to cook a delicious steak is a great way to test out the cooking skill of any person or fine dining establishment. Any meat eater will agree that cooking great steak is an art form that improves with practice. Some of the simpler recipes are the most delicious. Many restaurants make the mistake of doing too much or too little to their steaks. First, the meat should be of quality, properly aged, and butchered, harvested from a healthy animal. Secondly, the meat should be prepared for grilling by sprinkling sea salt on the meat and letting it warm to room temperature. Next, the grill should be heated before the meat is placed for cooking.
Equal Parts Skill, Instinct, and Magic
Cooking time will vary depending on how rare or well-done the steak is to be prepared. Always remember that steak will continue cooking even after it has been removed from the grill. There is nothing worse than having to send a good piece of meat back because it is well done when you asked for rare. Preparing a delicious steak is equal parts skill, instinct, and magic. Only an experienced chef or a great restaurant will be able to do this simple dish justice. Thankfully there are a few good Boston Back Bay restaurants left in the world.

Last week because of the bad haze (as seen here from my balcony), we decided to try Tesco Home Delivery Service and avoid going out in the haze. As mentioned in my previous post, we found some items even cheaper than Giant. I checked out all their promotion items page and selected a few that I thought was really worthit. Then I went around to search for the items that we really needed like our instant coffee mix, tissue, some frozen times like hotdog and fries. potatoes, sour cream… you get the idea. All in all we ordered 24 items and the amount came to RM225.77 inclusive of delivery charge of RM10.
Ok here’s what I found while shopping with Tesco. Firstly before you go shopping, check that they cover delivery to your area. You would think that right? Well actually you’re right and wrong. When I first check, they didn’t deliver to my area and the areas they put up for the state was very generic but because I wanted to see what they offered, I signup a the site anyway. So after signing up I started to fill up my profile and delivery address and that is where I found a more detailed list of addresses. I knew we had a Tesco nearby so I for one would not understand if they didn’t deliver to my area. I looked at my postcode and I couldn’t find my road at all, so I look at another postcode nearby, and nothing.. then I click on another postcode and there it was, MY road.. lol… so at this point, I was really getting excited. I told A about it and the said.. GO SHOPPING LOVE.. hahahahha…
So I did! The check out process is really easy.
- You select your items and check out
- The next page that comes out will be the Book Your Delivery Slot. Here you choose what date and time you want them to deliver your item. I choose Wednesday 6-8pm. Then click on Checkout
- The next page will be to confirm your order and delivery date and time again and you’re done
- Payment will be made when they deliver your items to your doorstep and mode of payment is ONLY via credit card or debit card.
- Wait for your grocery to be delivered.
Here’s our groceries. You might see that there are items in blue and white bag. Those in the white bags that stuff that I ordered and in the blue are for substitute orders. That just means the stuff that I ordered was not available and they substitute it with something else. In my case it was potatoes. At this point if you do not agree with the substitute you don’t have to accept it and they will deduct the cost from your total bill.
Shopping at Tesco is simply, for lack of better word, AWESOME. You get to shop at your own home and the delivery comes to your front door. Here’s their info again:
PS: I can’t find any info on whether there is any minimum order but I reckon since they charge RM10 for each order and they do deliver right up to your doorsteps, I reckon you might be ordering a lot right? Enjoy!

So mommy was craving for some Malay that that wasn’t cooked by her and so we decided to give Hajjah Maimunah at Gelyang (Singapore) a try. This is place is very popular and always jam packed that most time me and mommy would just pass by and eat somewhere else. However since it was pretty early that Saturday afternoon, we decided to just join the queue and finally give it a go.
While I queued, mommy was already peeking and selecting the dishes she wants to try so by the time I was at the showcase, she was ready with her selection. You can see the spread we had but guess what the bill was only SGD26. I was really in awe. I mean the place was air con, the food was good and with that kind of prices, no wonder the place is always full!
A quick round up of what we had.. Ikan Siakap (Fish), Rendang Daging (Spicy Meat dish), Pucuk Ubi (Vege) and Brocolli with prawns. Yums.. I’m hungry now!
Here are the details of the place in case you are interested to try whenever you are in Singapore.

Me and Azwaj were extremely excited to know that Tesco eshop can deliver to our area. As we both hate to go out in this hazy condition, we decided what better time to try shopping at their site.
After checking some of the prices at the site, we found most of the item were sold at the same price at our regular store so we didn’t need any more coaxing for sure. We selected 24 items which amounts to RM225.85 (inclusive of RM10 delivery charge) and choose our delivery date which is tomorrow between 6-8pm. Payment will be made upon delivery of items.
Exciting right? I can’t wait to receive our items tomorrow and will update you on their services.

As usual, whenever I go back to Singapore, me and mommy will always hangout at Coffee Bean at Parkway for her pure chocolate ice-blended fix and raspberry cheesecake. This time, however, mommy wanted to try their pasta as well and so since mommy always get what she wants, I ordered the chiken and mushroom fusilli for her to try… and she loved it!
We had a nice time for sure as we talked, laughed and watched as people check out the different brands of cigars available at the store just in front of where we were sitting. I just love quality time with mommy!

I got a SGD20 worth of voucher at the dessert place Andersen’s from Denmark for only SGD10!
So this is what we had.. It was delicious and mommy really enjoyed dipping the fruit in the chocoloate fondue :)

Ok, if you know me and Azwaj, you know we don’t make a big fuss about birthdays or even wedding anniversaries. To us each day is special and we don’t have to wait for “special” days to go out and enjoy ourselves. That being said, sometimes what we do coincide with our so call special days and so we just call it such.
This particular offer I got while surfing Groupon Malaysia in March this year. And since March happens to be my birth month and our wedding anniversary month, I just mentioned it in passing to Azwaj and surprise surprise, my darling hubby who would normally pass on such offers ask me to get it and said.. “let’s make it our March event”.. lol . I guess the fact that that there is a Manhattan Fish Market branch nearby our home makes it all the more attractive. So the Groupon offer was for the package below and for RM49 nett inclusive of taxes, I say it was really economical.
Anyway, can you believe we didn’t go in March? It was more like the last day of the offer which was 17 April to be exact, that we finally made our way to the Wangsa Walk branch. So that’s the story and now for the meal.. Enjoy the pictures.. and yeap it was a lot, we had to ask them to pack it away for us to bring home.. Yums!

Sometimes there are times when I simply must watch a show at that precise moment I can get hungry like a monster.. lol. Yeap, you know the kind of hunger pangs that strike without rhyme and reason and you simply must eat there and then… and at that precise moment, I wished I either have a tv set in the kitchen or some kind of exciting gemini speakers so that I can actually still listen to the show that I so want to watch.
My dream would have just that for sure.. but in the meantime, I just blast the tv volume on.. hahah.. sorry neighbour!

It’s too hot to sleep but I am too sleepy to stay awake so what better way to fill my time than going through the thousand and one pictures on my phone right? Time to clean up that baby anyway.
I read somewhere that although we have deleted some pictures or even files that there ways to retrieve these with some software available out in the market. Kind of scary right especially if I were to lose my phone coz I have everything in there. I know that there are softwares out there that can wipe hard drive free of all things that we deleted and I wonder if there is something similar for handphones. Guess time to do some research!

I love cooking but cleaning up can be such a hassle sometimes especially so if I am in a “cooking up a storm” mood. I mean it would be awesome if I have a maid to clean up after me but no such luck right so the next best thing is if only I can have a dish washing machine!
One of the things that I would love to have in my kitchen is a dishwashing machine. I would love it especially if it is the sort that can run hot water too so that it can wash my sometimes very oily pots and pans and dishes too!
Oh well, for now it’s good old hands and fingers but who knows one day I just may need to have kitchenaid dishwasher repair on standby!

Continued from here.. and I I am back to posting about the Media Familiarization Trip to Sarawak that I got to join that was organized by Malindo Air and Sarawak Tourism Board.
After a full day at the Semenggoh Wildlife Center, lunch at Serapi Corner which was then followed by another round of walking at the Sarawak Cultural Visit, all of us was ready for dinner. We met up at the lobby around 7pm and was taken by City Tour Coach to an open air eating spot called TopSpot Foodcourt. The foodcourt was on the 6th floor but one would never have guessed it coz it was open air concept and pleasantly spacious. Just as the lunch at Serapi Corner, our food was all pre-ordered from a stall called Bukit Mata Seafood, so we didn’t need to figure out what to have.
So are you ready to see what we had. Tarahhh… Bon Appetit.
Hungry yet? So don’t forget to visit the Topcourt foodcourt if you are ever in Kuching, Sarawak ok.

Wow, what a productive day it has been. From getting deworming tablets for my furkids to getting wholesale toyota parts for my father-in-law, I feel like I’m gonna collapse if I don’t find my bed soon. I’ve been up since 3pm yesterday working the whole night with my client in the States and then because I had things to do early this morning I decided to just forego my sleep.
Now I’ve had my lunch and once the fullness subside, I will say hello to my lovely pillows.. lol!

So on my trip to Sarawak, there was three items that I really really really wanted to buy. First, it’s the Kek Lapis (I will blog about it later), Ikan Terubuk Masin (blog post coming as well) and the Gigantic Udang Galah… and here they are.
Because we were in a rush, the travel guide suggested that we pre-order the Terubuk Masin and the prawns and the supplier will pack them up nicely for us and send to the hotel for collection. The prawns was going at RM50 a kilo so I only ordered a kilo (I’m not rich you know..lol). I only knew when I got home that there was only 5 huge and one medium size prawns in the nicely packed box.
Anyway, once cleaned, we decided that since the prawns were huge, we would cook them in two style. Azwaj would bake two of them and I would cook the remaining ones. Here are the results.. Yummy for sure! Ahhh.. if only we had those Royal Teak Collection Miami Teak Deep Seating Patio Chair from homeandpatiodecorcenter.com around, we will surely feel like we are on holiday as we enjoy these succulent prawns!
Bon appetit!

Here was what on the menu. The food was on the spicy side but since I love spicy food, it suited my palate just fine :)

I recently had an opportunity to be part of a Malindo Air and Sarawak Tourism Board Media Familiarization Trip to Sarawak. It was a three day 2 night trip and there are tons to blog about. I have blogged about some activities to do in Sarawak in my other blog and in this food blog I will blog about the food! So here goes..
As promised here, I will tell you about my breakfast at Cafe Majestic, Riverside Majestic Hotel in Sarawak.
We had breakfast at the cafe for two mornings and both times the spread of food was unbelievable. We had the bread station, the congee section, the dim sum section, the western section, the traditional section and of course the dessert section. Since I was starving from all the activities the day before, I took a bit from each section..hahha.. Yummy!
Here’s some picture to whet your appetite:

Storage has always been a problem for me because easily said, I have way too much stuff. It does not helped of course that being a person that is obsessed with having stuff in it’s right place, I have boxes for things that are already in boxes just so I “know” that the same stuff is in the same place. OCD? Perhaps.. but that’s just me.
Recently Azwaj got to replace my 10 inch drawer slides for the second time this year because I was shoving in too many stuff in my drawer simply because that particular item “needs” to be in the same drawer because its other family is in there..lol!.. Anyway, let’s not have you imagined that and instead fill your brain with something more appealing.
Here’s you can see chicken noodle but instead of having it straight from the menu, my lovely cousin, Sherina, requested that the vendor used the chicken meant for chicken rice sold there as well and place a few pieces of fried wanton in the dish instead. It sounded so good when she ordered it that I asked her to order one for me too. The result? Simply delish! Good job dearie!
